As a new eighth grader, this song inspired me to wear my hair natural and curly instead of getting it straightened for picture day. Thanks, Queen!!!!

For years I was told I was ugly. I want to thank them now because it made me realize how gorgeous all women of shades, religions, sexualities, and ethnicities are. This song made me cry because I truly know how far I've come from that scared little black girl to a queen with her head held high.

I have no African blood in me but this song made me feel many emotions. I have brown skin and am stereotyped before people know me. I am a Native American dude that works 3 jobs and live in Oklahoma and collections action figures. I don't drink or do drugs but most people think I do before they even talk to me. It sucks being judged based on your skin color. The message to black women and positivity in this song is really amazing. I love seeing all the videos posted of moms and daughters dancing, I really like seeing the dads singing it to their daughters and just seeing the smiles on the beautiful black womens faces brings so much happiness to me. I love it and I have had this song on repeat since I first heard it!

How is this not prejudice or racist?? What about people with light/white skin? Btw pearls are white not brown. This song seriously makes me mad. Beyoncé is going down hill.

THIS IS BY FAR THE GREATEST AND MOST MEANINGFUL SONG FROM BEYONCE’! SHE HAS ALWAYA BEEN MY FAV AND ALTHOUGH SHE IS LIGHT SKINNED AND SO AM, I LOVE HOW OUR DARKER TONED QUEENS ARE BEING UPLIFTED THE WAY IT SHOULD’VE ALWAYS BEEN. THE LYRICS R DEEP N PURE TRUTH! I LOVE BEING BLACK! 🙌🏾🤗🥰🙌🏾

I remember I hated my skin , I wanted to be white. I wanted a “ white girl “ name. I wanted blonde hair. I wanted to feel accepted but I learned to loveee my skin. My name is Promise and I’m proud of my melanin. My skin is definitely a blessing. Thank you Lord.

As a young girl who was constantly teased for my skin tone, this song often brings tears to my eyes. Unless you're a black woman or black girl, you wouldn't fully understand the magnitude of this song and knowing that we are beautiful no matter how dark we are!! It took a long time to get comfortable in this skin. I just turned 40 and you can't tell me shit lmbo!!! 😂😂😂
